The crib can be converted into a toddler bed when your child is 2-3 years of age using the Lucca Toddler Rail (sold seperately). Once your child reaches ages 4-5 the crib can then be converted into a full-size bed using the Dolce Babi Lucca Conversion Kit (sold separately).

Your child can use this bed well into teenage years. Most children begin using the Lucca full-size bed setting at ages four to five. The Lucca full-size bed setting takes a full-size mattress.
